Not very Linux related, but this is a nice tip anyway.

If you use a future mail page (like https://www.futureme.org/ ) in conjunct with a email to sms gateway (you can get a list here: https://www.mutube.com/projects/open-email-to-sms/gateway-list/ ), you can send reminders in a free, fast way, directly to your cellphone (and futureme doesnt even need you to signup for an account)

I use 'https://rememberthemilk.com', myself. Works pretty well. All I do is send an email with a relatively obvious format - e.g.

# All of these are optional, and there are a lot of others
Due: Monday at 9am (or D: 2/16/2009 9am)
Estimate: 2 hours (or E: 2h)
Tags: Wake me up! (or S: Wake up!)
Location: Home (or O: Home)

They ping me when appropriate, via email or SMS. I've found it useful on a number of occasions.
